Voting results show winners in local races for Nov. 8 election

Candidates who have been cam- paigning for months for the right to hold office for federal, state, county, city and school board positions can now take a breath and return to their normal routines now that the Novem- ber 8 election is over.

Manor’s City and Board of Trust- ees officials will hold meetings over the next few weeks to canvas the votes to officially declare winners and swear in the new candidates.

Manor ISD Board of Trustees Place 2 candidates included Sam Matildy Samaripa who received 23.9% or 2,754 votes while Candidate Dr. Mary L. Thomas received 38.6% or 4,435 votes. Candidate Shekema Dunlap received 37.2% or 4,295 votes cast. A total of 11,484 votes were cast for the Place 2 candidates. Since Thomas received the most votes, she won the election for Place 2 on the Manor ISD Board of Trustees.
